What our members say

How to join a church service

1. Pick a service

We have a range of services at different times, lengths, locations and styles. See what fits with you.

2. Find a park

There’s free parking available either on-site or along the road at all of our service locations.

3. Come on in

Someone will greet you at the door and give you a service info sheet. Sit wherever you want and there’s an activity area for children.

What to expect at a service

  • Typically a service will consist of some notices, worship (faith themed) songs, a sermon (a talk on a faith based topic), followed by a few more songs to end. Afterwards there may be a shared morning tea with tea /coffee and biscuits provided by the church, or a sausage sizzle. It depends on which service you attend.

We offer a range of services within the parish. Please see the Regular Services page for more information about individual services, their styles, times and locations.

For special annual services such as Christmas, Easter and Lent, please see the Annual Services & Events page.

  • Communion is a tradition we practice by having a small amount of bread and wine/juice during a church service. Jesus invited his followers to use these common everyday food/drink items as symbols to remember his life, death and resurrection by. The bread represents his body, which we say ‘was broken for us’, and the wine/juice, his blood which ‘was shed for us’. To newcomers this may sound strange, but for Christians, it helps us us to remember and celebrate the lengths that God has gone to, to save us.

Communion is part of many of our services and is offered to all who are baptised, or a full member of any Christian church. A blessing can be received instead if preferred.

Dietary requirements: Non-alcoholic and gluten-free communion options are available at St Stephen’s 10am Sunday service, with the option of the shared cup or intinction (wafer dipped in separate wine by the priest) if you’d prefer.

All other services offer wine in a shared cup.

  • Often there will be a time in a service when we collect donations for the upkeep of church (the buildings, staff and programmes); this is called the “offering”. As a visitor we don’t expect you to contribute financially, please feel welcome as our guest.

  • Children join the rest of the congregation for our services, and at the 10am St Stephen’s & 5pm St Andrew’s services there are activity tables for children to use. The St Stephen’s monthly all-age service is children-led and followed by sausage sizzle.

    Kids facilities (at both churches)

    • Activity/play area

    • Change table in the bathroom

  • St Stephen’s | General and accessible on-site parking, with additional roadside parking nearby

St Andrew’s | Roadside general parking, with accessible parking on-site

If possible, consider using the bus, car pooling, walking or cycling for a more eco friendly travel option.

  • The Anglican Church’s 5th Mark of Mission is to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth

Please see our Sustainability page to see our sustainability values and practices, and some of our ideas for the future.

  • Rev Indrea is typically available to chat after the 10am St Stephen’s Sunday service if you have any quick questions.
